A man appeared in court today charged with assisting an offender following the alleged murder of PC Dave Phillips.
Glen Nicholas Campbell Jones, 39, of Wheatland Lane, Wallasey, was charged with the offence yesterday.
He appeared before South Sefton magistrates court this morning.
Wearing a black donkey jacket and Adidas top, Jones spoke only to confirm his name and address.
No application for bail was made and he was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on December 14.
Jones is the sixth man to be charged following the alleged murder of dad-of-two PC Phillips in the early hours of Monday, October 5.
The Merseyside Police officer was killed after being hit by a stolen Mitsubishi pick-up truck in Wallasey as he tried to deploy a tyre-deflating stinger device.
